A 17-year-old girl named Nickayla Justine A. was killed while two others were hospitalized after a major head-on crash in Oro Grande on Friday evening, February 11, 2022.

A southbound white Ford F-150 was traveling on National Trails Highway. It crossed the double-yellow lines for unclear reasons and veered into the opposite lanes, where it collided head-on with an oncoming northbound Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Due to the severity of the impact, one of the vehicles drove into an embankment. Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene to extricate the trapped parties.

A passenger inside the white Ford was killed in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people sustained major injuries in the crash; they were taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
