Motorcycle riders are definitely among the most vulnerable drivers on the road. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motorcycle riders are 16 times more likely to be injured and 35 times more likely to be killed in a crash than automobile passengers.

Almost 75% of motorcycle accidents include a motorcycle and a car, and more than half of all motorcycle accidents occur after sunset.

The weather and scenery of California are ideal for riding a motorcycle all year. However, California has become a hotspot for major motorcycle accidents. Every year, around 400 people are killed while riding motorcycles in California. Motorcycles lack the safety features seen in other road cars, including seat belts, airbags, crumple zones, and steel frames.

Distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, bad weather, wrong-way driving, and failure to obey traffic laws are the most common causes of motorcycle accidents.
