[02-28-2022] Fatal Pedestrian Accident Results in Death of One Woman Near Lake ElsinoreThe California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday that a woman walking across State Route 74 near Lake Elsinore was struck and killed on Monday, February 28.

According to CHP Officer Mike Lassig, the fatal crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. at SR-74 just west of Hammack Avenue.

A Honda Civic driver struck the woman as she crossed SR-74 just west of Hammack Avenue.

According to CHP reports, the woman, who remained unidentified as of Tuesday, stepped directly in front of the Civic driver’s path, and the driver was unable to avoid her.

According to Lassig, the driver immediately pulled over and dialed 911 for assistance, but emergency personnel was unable to revive her. She was killed on the highway.

The CHP Temecula Area is still investigating the crash, according to Lassig.
