[03-10-2023] Orange County, CA - Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Laguna BeachA pedestrian collision claimed a woman’s life in Laguna Beach on Friday night, March 10, 2023.

The fatal crash reportedly occurred around 6:25 p.m. near Mountain Road and South Coast Highway.

Firefighters responded to the scene after receiving calls about a woman struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the area.

When they arrived, they discovered the woman lying on the road.

Although life-saving measures were taken, the victim was declared dead at the scene. She has yet to be identified.

Witnesses stated the female was not in the crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

Meanwhile, the involved motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Though the South Coast Highway lanes were closed Friday evening while the investigation was ongoing, they reopened.
