[03-11-2022] One Woman Killed in Fatal Train Accident in Northwest FresnoAn unidentified female pedestrian was hit and killed by an Amtrak train prompting police to investigate in northwest Fresno on Friday morning, March 11, 2022.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near West and Sante Fe Avenues.

The woman was standing on the tracks when the train collided with her, according to Fresno police. She passed away on the spot.

Her full name and age have yet to be disclosed.

According to investigators, all safety equipment along the tracks was operational as the train approached the crossing.
