One person was taken to the hospital after a crash involving multiple horses in Rio Linda on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

[03-16-2022] Sacramento County, CA - One Person Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Rio LindaAccording to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, around 5:10 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to Dry Creek Road and Elkhorn Boulevard.

Officials with Metro Fire said crews discovered the scene of a crash involving two vehicles and several horses that had escaped from a property.

According to Metro Fire, when first responders arrived, two of the horses were already dead.

At least one person was injured, but Metro Fire did not specify their condition when they were transported to the hospital.

The identity of the injured victim has yet to be disclosed.

According to Metro Fire, two more horses have gone missing, and animal control is looking for their owners.
There are no other details available.

The crash remains under investigation.
