[03-19-2023] Two Children Injured After DUI Two-Vehicle Collision in TurlockTwo children were injured following a two-vehicle collision involving a suspected drunk driver in Turlock early Sunday morning, March 19, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol, AMR, Turlock Fire, and Turlock Police responded to the crash around 1:13 a.m. on southbound State Route 99 north of W Main Street.

The collision reportedly involved a silver 2008 Saturn Outlook with moderate damage and a heavily damaged maroon 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, which rolled over and landed on its roof.

After being ejected, the Chevy driver was found lying on N Walnut Road next to the freeway. He sustained a moderate head injury and was airlifted by PHI Air Medical Services to a nearby hospital.

The two children riding with him were taken by AMR to local hospitals with minor injuries. Not much is known about the condition of the motorist of the other vehicle involved.

It’s currently uncertain how the crash occurred, but CHP officials arrested the Chevy driver for DUI, inflicting bodily injury to another person, after discharging him to the hospital.
