[03-20-2023] Driver Arrested After Hit-And-Run Collision in Santa Maria, One InjuredA male pedestrian sustained minor injuries after a hit-and-run collision in Santa Maria on Monday night, March 20, 2023.

The crash reportedly occurred around 7:49 p.m. near Bunny and Broadway.

Authorities responded to the collision involving a male pedestrian walking on the sidewalk when a car exited a parking lot and struck him.

The driver dragged him for several feet before running him over. As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries, which required treatment at a hospital.

Officers searched the area’s video surveillance and discovered the driver and vehicle at a trailer park. They were able to locate the 48-year-old driver, identified as Zafra D.

The suspect was arrested and booked into the North County Jail in Santa Barbara on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving without a license.
