Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash Statistics

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, 680,000 people are injured or killed annually in hit-and-run accidents. Hit-and-run incidents have resulted in more fatalities in recent years. In 2020, 24% of these accidents were pedestrian-related, resulting in fatalities.

A hit-and-run collision occurs when two vehicles collide, and one of the vehicles speeds away without stopping to assist the injured.

In addition to the suffering and financial burden, hit-and-run accidents may cause damages due to carelessness or delayed medical attention.

The majority of pedestrian injuries are the result of distracted driving. While driving, the driver can converse with passengers, adjusting the radio, or make phone calls. You are more likely to miss a person crossing the road when multitasking.

In some circumstances, wearing bright clothing will help to lower the risk of accidents. Crossing slowly allows approaching vehicles to see you better.
