According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at MacArthur Boulevard and Birch Street.

Authorities stated that a vehicle was at the intersection attempting to make a left turn when it crashed into the motorcyclist approaching head west on MacArthur.

The rider, only identified as a man, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle remained and cooperated with the authorities.

Police said it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the police at 714-245-8215
