[03-23-2023] Imperial County, CA – Rollover Collision in Glamis Killed One, Injured Another

A 68-year-old man was killed, and another was injured after a single-vehicle crash in Imperial County on Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2023.

The fatal collision reportedly occurred around 4:00 p.m. in the open desert area of the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area.

According to authorities, two men in their 60s were inside a 2021 Polaris Razor when the vehicle rolled over.

Due to the impact, the 68-year-old passenger from Eagle, Michigan, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the 61-year-old Sunnyside, Washington driver suffered severe injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Both men wore seatbelts at the time of the accident, but neither wore a helmet. However, officers stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, although the investigation is still ongoing.

Details on the victims’ identities are yet to be released, and further investigations are ongoing.
