According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:40 p.m. along Hwy 9, south of Mill Street.

The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was struck by an unknown car heading northbound lane.

She sustained severe injuries and had to be transported to a nearby hospital by air.

The authorities have yet to catch the suspect and are currently investigating the accident.
