Reckless Driving Accident Statistics

When aggressive or reckless drivers are on the road, they put the lives of others in danger. Other people’s careless driving shouldn’t put people’s lives in danger.

Any damages or injuries caused by drivers who operate their vehicles in this manner should be held accountable. The number of car accidents in the United States is rising because of careless drivers.

An average of 90 people are killed every day as a result of the approximately 6 million accidents that occur in the United States each year. An estimated three million people are killed, and another two million are seriously injured in car accidents each year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) defines reckless driving as a series of moving traffic violations committed to endanger others or property.

As many as a third of the people killed in car accidents each year are killed by reckless drivers.

Mistakes like these can be traced back to a lack of attention to detail. People who engage in reckless driving behaviors such as tailgating and racing are commonplace. If you’re a driver, you should avoid both drinking and texting while behind the wheel.
