According to the initial reports from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident occurred at around 4:42 p.m. on 1060 S. Main Street.

The LAPD was initially responding to a report of a man with a gun. As they were chasing the suspect through traffic, the officers crossed the double yellow lines with their lights and sirens on.

That’s when a van made a sudden left turn and ended up colliding with the police vehicle. Three people were injured as a result of the crash, they were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
