[05-12-2023] Three Individuals Injured, Two Severely, After Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 49Two individuals sustained severe injuries, while one occupant suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Mariposa County on Friday morning, May 12, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Highway 49 South, south of Darrah Road.

According to the report, the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Highway 49 South when the 2003 Ford Taurus entered the southbound lane, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.

The driver and passenger of the Ford were transported to a local hospital with major injuries, while the third occupant of the Ford sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.

The CHP reported that alcohol and drugs were not believed to be contributing factors in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
