[05-28-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – One Person Killed, At Least Five Others Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Northbound I-215

One person was killed, and at least five others were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision in San Bernardino on early Sunday morning, May 28, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol received reports regarding the three-vehicle collision at about 12:18 a.m. on northbound Interstate 215, between Inland Center Drive and Mill Street exits.

The crash involved a gray/silver Honda Odyssey minivan, a Dodge Magnum, and a black Kia Soul. The Honda collided with the disabled Kia, causing the vehicle to catch fire. After that, one of the vehicles struck a minivan that was carrying a three-month-old infant.

Rescue crews helped all the people involved in the collision. One person was pronounced dead at the scene after CPR efforts failed. Also, at least five people were transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

The deceased’s identity has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Lanes #1, #2, and #3 were reported blocked by all three cars. The CHP is still investigating the crash.
