[05-30-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – Two People Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 40

The two women that were killed in a deadly two-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 have been identified by authorities.

[05-30-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Two People Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 40The two victims were identified as 32-year-old Wittney B. and 35-year-old Makelika S. Wittney was driving an eastbound Jeep on I-40 when she changed lanes and lost control of her vehicle.

Wittney then crashed into another car. Wittney was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger in her jeep was rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, but was later pronounced deceased.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.

Two people were killed in a collision between a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 40 early Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 12:30 p.m. near I-40 and Five Mile Road.

According to initial CHP reports, two people were ejected from the pickup, and were later declared dead.

The identities of the victims were not immediately available, and it was unclear whether there were any other injuries, though journalists on the scene noticed a medical helicopter.

The San Bernardino County firefighters and Baker Emergency Medical Service paramedics joined the CHP at the scene of the accident.

The collision caused the left lane of westbound I-40 to be closed for cleanup.
