[05-31-2023] Multi-Vehicle Collision in Chico Leaves Two People InjuredTwo people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Chico on Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash involving a Ford Fusion, a Dodge Ram 2500 truck, and a Nissan Altima at around 6:56 a.m. on Highway 32 near Meridian Road.

Authorities stated that the driver of the Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on Highway 32 and, for unknown reasons, drifted across the roadway into the oncoming westbound lanes.

The Dodge Ram 2500 was westbound on Highway 32 when the Ford Fusion struck its left-front corner. The collision caused the Dodge Ram 2500 to rotate counterclockwise from the westbound lane to the eastbound lane. When the Nissan Altima entered the eastbound lane on Highway 32, it collided with the Dodge Ram 2500.

The CHP said the driver of a Nissan Altima was extracted from the vehicle with moderately suspected injuries. The Dodge Ram 2500 driver sustained minor injuries. The Ford Fusion driver was uninjured.

No additional information regarding the collision or the victims was disclosed. Anyone with information should contact the authorities immediately.
