[08-27-2023] Female Pedestrian Suffered Critical Injuries After SUV Collision in OxnardA female pedestrian is in critical condition following a collision with an SUV in Oxnard on Sunday evening, August 27, 2023.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident occurred at the Fifth Street and Patterson Road intersection, near the Oxnard Airport, around 11:40 p.m.

A Chevrolet Avalanche was heading west on the street when it struck the teen pedestrian crossing the road. The driver, a Port Hueneme resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

It was reported that the teen was in critical condition when she was transported to Ventura County Medical Center.

No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in this incident.
