[09-17-2022] Two-Vehicle Collision Killed One Woman in Live Oak in SutterAccording to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 99 in Live Oak Saturday, September 17, 2022.

The deputies said that the crash occurred two-vehicle Saturday on Highway 99 and Ivy Street last month.

Following an investigation into an accident, a woman was detained on suspicion of committing vehicular manslaughter.

According to the authorities, Beatriz C., a brown Toyota Camry driver, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Esmeralda P., the driver of a red Jeep, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

According to the deputies, detectives discovered that Perez was engaging in reckless driving. It was reported that she traveled at speed over twice as fast as the posted limit when she collided with Curiel’s vehicle.

According to the sheriff’s office, other determining factors and evidence indicate that Perez was driving in a negligent and unlawful manner, as stated in the press release.

There was no evidence that either alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
