[10-04-2022] Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Results in One Female Pedestrian Died in OaklandAn unidentified female pedestrian died after a fatal hit-and-run accident in Oakland on Monday, October 3, 2022.

The accident transpired around 9:50 p.m. on Hamilton Street at Hegenberger Road.

When police arrived, they discovered a woman who they thought was in her 30s lying on the ground. The crash site coroner declared her dead.

On Tuesday morning, the woman’s identity was not made public by the authorities.

The woman was struck by an unidentified driver who was traveling south on Hegenberger, according to police. She was crossing the street close to a marked crosswalk but outside of it. The car left the scene.

Authorities did not describe the suspect driver and vehicle. Police stated that they were unsure if the driver used drugs or alcohol.
