[10-07-2022] A 40-Year-Old and a 38-Year-old Dies Following a Rollover Crash on Tecopa Hot Springs RoadTwo people died after a rollover crash in Southern Inyo on Friday, October 7, 2022.

The accident transpired at around 4:10 a.m. on Tecopa Hot Springs Road. The car was resting on its roof and partially submerged in a marsh.

According to CHP, a 38-year-old man was riding along in a Ford Mustang that a 40-year-old woman was driving north of that road, north of Furnace Creek Road.

Unknown factors may have caused or permitted the driver to drive her car onto Tecopa Hot Springs Road’s right shoulder. She then made two additional left and right overcorrections before spinning counterclockwise on and off the road.

The 40-year-old woman’s car went off the road, flipped onto its roof, went into the water, and got stuck in the soft mud of the marsh.

When a resident of Tecopa Hot Springs heard the collision, they informed the CHP.

The collision is still under investigation by Bishop CHP.
