[10-25-2022] A 54-Year-Old Fatality Following a Two-Vehicle Crash in TruckeeA 54-year-old, identified as Ian T., of Tahoe Vista, died after a two-vehicle crash close to Truckee on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

According to CHP, the crash transpired around 9 a.m. on SR28, east Old County Road.

According to an initial investigation, Tippins was operating a GMC Savana in the westbound direction of that road.

Scott J., 59, of Reno, was operating a Peterbilt tractor pulling a flatbed trailer that was also moving west.

According to the CHP, Tippins let his vehicle veer to the left, crossed the double yellow lines, and entered the eastbound lanes. The GMC’s left front side collided with the tractor’s left front side.

Tippins was immediately declared dead. The tractor’s driver did not sustain any injuries.
