[11-03-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – A Pedestrian Died after a Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Barstow

According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run accident by a car on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 in the city of Barstow on Thursday morning, November 3, 2022.

The accident transpired around 12:22 a.m. on Interstate 15 in the northbound direction, immediately after the Outlet Center Drive exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic log, the pedestrian was moving slowly.

The pedestrian was discovered unresponsive in the #3 lane and was there when CHP arrived on the scene. After initial CPR attempts failed, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver in the collision reportedly stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities.

After hitting metal debris, a big rig and a silver Toyota Corolla stopped to check if there was any damage to their vehicles. The pedestrian may have been struck by more than one vehicle.

The pedestrian vehicle may have also been a white Mercedes-Benz S600 sedan, which the CHP also reported.
