[11-09-2022] Alameda County, CA - Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing and Getting Hit by Vehicle in OaklandThe California Highway Patrol and Alameda County coroner’s bureau confirmed that a motorcyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon, November 9, 2022.

According to the CHP, the officers were dispatched to the collision at 4:10 p.m. along Interstate 580 in Oakland between 98th and near the 106th Avenue off-ramp.

CHP spokesperson Adib Zeid said that Hamza S., a 20-year-old resident of Livermore, was riding westbound on I-580 when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a metal guardrail.

He was thrown into the eastbound lane and got struck by a vehicle. The CHP reported that the driver was traveling at a fast speed, but the exact cause of the collision is unknown.

His body was discovered by the responders lying in the left lane of eastbound 580, where he was declared dead on the spot. There was no information on the identity and condition of the driver that hit Salih.

Two lanes on 580 in both directions were closed due to the collision. The CHP said all lanes were opened after two hours.

Authorities reported there were no indications of alcohol or drug use as they investigated the crash.
