[11-09-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Garbage Truck in San BernardinoThe California Highway Patrol said that a pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a garbage truck in San Bernardino on Wednesday morning, November 9, 2022.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred at 5:53 a.m. at the intersection of the University Parkway onramp and Interstate 215 southbound lanes.

The officers reported that the truck driver pulled over right away and dialed 911. No identity was given by the officers.

The pedestrian was unconscious in front of the onramp entrance when emergency personnel arrived. Shortly later, the pedestrian was declared dead at the site after CPR efforts failed.

The CHP officer said that the garbage truck driver is fully cooperating with the authorities.

The California Highway Patrol Inland Office is looking into what caused the collision.
