[11-16-2023] Riverside County, CA – Store Clerk Hospitalized Following Convenience Store Chemical Leak on Madison Street

A store clerk was hospitalized following a chemical leak in Riverside early Thursday morning, November 16, 2023.

According to the Riverside Fire Department, the incident happened around 5:00 a.m. in a Circle K convenience store at 3480 Madison Street.

The victim was transported to the hospital after being exposed to carbon dioxide. His current conditions remain unknown, while other night shift employees were evaluated for symptoms.

The hazmat team was investigating the scene while other officials were being contacted. Further information about the incident has yet to be released.
