[11-24-2022] Shasta County, CA - Two People Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Interstate 5Two people were fatally struck by a third driver who failed to notice them on Interstate 5, Anderson Thursday night, November 24, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Riverside Avenue.

Authorities stated that a motorcycle rider struck a deer, causing them to lose control and slide into the middle of the road near Balls Ferry Road.

Soon after, one person pulled over in the middle of the road, stopped her car, and got out to assist the injured biker.

Authorities report that a third driver struck and killed the motorcyclist and the person offering aid as they tried to help the injured rider.

Reports indicate that the third driver did not see either of them.

Responders arrived at the scene and declared both victims dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver who struck them was not intoxicated.

The deadly collision is still under investigation.
