[12-06-2022] Semi-Truck Driver Killed in Collision with Train on Highway 44Authorities said a semi-truck driver was killed in a truck and train collision in Lassen County on Tuesday afternoon, December 06, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol Susanville, the fatal crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. near Old Station and Highway 44.

The truck driver reportedly failed to clear the truck and get away in time and was killed in the collision.

According to Caltrans, due to the semi obstructing the roadway, Highway 44 was closed between Highway 36 and 89.

No other details on the collision were released as the investigation continued.
