[12-14-2021] Kern County, CA – One Person Killed Following a Deadly Car Crash in Wasco

A 26-year-old woman was killed after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Wasco on Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021.

The accident transpired at approximately 6:00 a.m. just south of the intersection of N Palm Avenue and Taussig Avenue in Wasco.

A northbound sedan was driving on Palm Avenue when it drifted onto the right shoulder for unclear reasons. The sedan driver then overcorrected to the left and veered into the southbound lanes, and drove directly into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

Unfortunately, the pickup truck driver was unable to stop in time and crashed into the sedan’s right side.

The sedan driver sustained fatal injuries in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed. The other driver was uninjured in the collision. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
