Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics

According to the government, there is an automobile collision somewhere in the country every sixty seconds. This is hardly surprising, given the large number of vehicles that use the nation’s roads each day.

As more and more people drive on the same roads, congestion, gridlock, and (most importantly) car accidents — both fatal and severe – are inevitable.

In recent years, the number of people killed or injured in car accidents in the United States has climbed drastically. Thirty-eight thousand persons were killed in car accidents in the United States in 2019, according to the National Safety Council (NSC).

The number of people killed in car accidents has risen dramatically in California as well. As of 2018, there were 3,563 fatalities from car accidents in California, according to the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). In the wake of California’s fatal accidents, thousands of individuals must cope with grief and untimely loss.
