Two people were injured following a pedestrian crash in Long Beach on Monday morning, December 27, 2021.

Two people were walking in a crosswalk when they were suddenly struck by a passing vehicle for unclear reasons.

They were both injured in the crash. The 80-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and immediately taken to an area hospital.

Meanwhile, the other pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.

It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The Long Beach Police Department is further investigating the case.
