[08-18-2020] Alameda County, CA – One Man Dead Due to a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision in Berkeley

An unidentified man was killed in a fatal multi-vehicle traffic collision in Berkeley on Tuesday afternoon, August 18.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the collision transpired at around 3:00 p.m. on the eastbound I-80 lanes near the Gilman Street on-ramp west of Buchanan Street.

A green Toyota Tercel, a black Lexus IS 350, and a blue Ford Ranger sport-utility vehicle was involved in the collision. The green Toyota Tercel traveled at high speed before changing lanes, causing the vehicle to collide with a black Lexus IS 350.

The Toyota then lost control and struck the center divider before veering into a blue Ford Ranger sport-utility vehicle. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities don’t think drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash.

Multi-Vehicle Collision Investigation is Underway
