[12-17-2020] Sacramento County, CA – One Person Injured, Another Killed After a Deadly DUI Crash at Fruitridge Boulevard

One person was injured while another was killed after a deadly DUI car accident at an intersection in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon, December 17.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident transpired at Fruitridge Boulevard and 65th Street around 4:00 p.m. A Ford SUV crashed into a Toyota Corolla, causing the Corolla to overturn due to the collision.

Two occupants of the Corolla sustained severe injuries from the accident and were taken to an area hospital. One of the occupants sadly passed away in the hospital.

The Ford driver was identified as 62-year-old Charles Howell. He sustained minor injuries from the accident. Police later determined that Howell was intoxicated at the time of the accident. He was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and felony DUI charges.
