Two drivers sustained severe injuries after a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lincoln Park on Monday night, May 11th.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident occurred at around 9:20 p.m. on Imperial Avenue at Escuela Street.

A 45-year-old man was heading west on his 1993 Toyota Corolla on the eastbound Imperial Avenue when he suddenly collided head-on with an incoming 1999 Toyota Rav4 SUV.

The Toyota was driven by a 19-year-old girl. The older man had a concussion and a fractured forearm while the young girl had a broken pelvis and forearm as a result of the accident.

Both of the drivers had to be rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.
