[07-26-2020] Sonoma County, CA – One Man Injured After a DUI Accident in Lakeville

An unnamed 22-year-old man from Davis was hurt after his vehicle collided with a suspected drunk driver in Lakeville on Sunday evening, July 26.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:23 p.m. The unidentified victim was heading northbound in his Ford Focus when a Chevrolet Impala suddenly struck him at the intersection of Stage Gulch Road and Lakeville Highway. The driver of the Chevrolet Impala was identified as a 37-year-old man named David Aspegren. The Chevrolet driver was driving south then crossed into the opposing lane, causing him to strike the victim’s Ford Focus.

The victim was immediately flown to the Santa Memorial Hospital. He sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment for it. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing significant bodily injury, possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia possession.
