[02-07-2023] Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Car Crash near Santa ClaritaAuthorities reported that a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision with a vehicle east of Santa Clarita on Tuesday evening, February 07, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred before 6:20 p.m. at 7000 Soledad Canyon Road, east of Briggs Road, west of the unincorporated community of Acton.

Responders from the CHP Newhall Area and L.A. County Fire Department engine 80 arrived at the scene with the vehicle nowhere to be found. The motorcycle rider was declared dead at the site at around 7:00 p.m. No details on their identity were released.

Witness reports indicated that the hit-and-run car was last seen going west on Soledad, west of Briggs Road. The driver is still at large as of the following morning.

The circumstances leading to the collision remained unknown as the investigation continued. No other details were immediately available.
