Fatal Motorcycle Crash

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motorcyclists account for 11% of all traffic accidents in the United States. In 2018, there were 82,000 motorbike injuries and 4,985 motorcycle deaths.

This number is not surprising given that motorcyclists are 16 times more likely than passengers in enclosed cars to be injured or killed in a car accident.

The terrible reality is that California is not exactly a motorbike rider’s paradise. California has the most registered motorcycles in the country, with over 800,000 registered motorcycles. In 2017, 16,505 motorcycle incidents occurred on California highways, resulting in 15,527 injuries and 541 fatalities.

Helmets have been shown to be useful in preventing serious head injuries. Helmets were proven to be 37% effective in preventing motorcycle fatalities. However, the rest of their bodies may still be vulnerable.

Distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, adverse weather, wrong-way driving, and failing to respect traffic laws are common causes of motorcycle accidents.

Motorcycle Accident Lawyers for Victims in San Benito County

More people die in motorcycle accidents than in any other traffic collision. In a fatal motorcycle accident, it is very difficult for the victim’s family to cope with the loss.

If you’ve never been involved in a traffic accident, the steps to take following a crash can be challenging. This is a fact that the insurance industry is aware of. They may try to persuade victims to accept a settlement without contacting a lawyer first.

Due to the victim’s family’s pain, insurance companies may easily trick them into settling for a claim that is substantially less than its actual worth. To avoid this, immediately contact an experienced motorcycle accident attorney.
