Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in San Jacinto on Sunday night, March 7, 2022.

A red Toyota Prius hatchback and a dark gray Honda Civic collided on the roadway for unclear reasons.

Authorities determined that the southbound Honda lost control of their vehicle before driving into the center median and colliding head-on with a Toyota.

Both vehicles were seriously damaged in the crash. One victim was trapped in the Toyota and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. At least two people were hospitalized following the collision.

One of the drivers was later arrested for DUI-related charges. She was identified as 38-year-old Maria Mercedes A.

An active investigation of the mishap is currently underway.
