Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash Statistics

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety states that hit-and-run accidents injure or kill 680,000 people annually. In recent years, hit-and-run accidents have claimed more lives. Pedestrian fatalities in 2020 were attributed to 24% of these accidents.

In a hit-and-run accident, one vehicle collides with another and leaves without stopping to help the injured.

In addition to the anguish and financial burden, hit-and-run injuries may result in damages because of negligence or a delay in treatment.

Distracted driving causes the majority of pedestrian injuries. The driver may communicate with passengers, change the radio, or talk on the phone while driving. While multitasking, you are more likely to miss someone crossing the street.

Bright clothing should be worn in certain situations to reduce the risk of accidents. Approaching cars can see you more easily when you cross slowly.
