[03-22-2023] One Killed, Another Injured After Hit-And-Run Collision on 60 FreewayA hit-and-run collision claimed the life of an 11-year-old and injured another in Industry early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023.

According to reports, the fatal crash transpired around 5:00 a.m. on the 60 Freeway near Crossroads Parkway.

Authorities stated that a driver was traveling westbound in a Hyundai Sedan when they collided with a big rig. The driver fled the scene after the first collision and began driving eastbound in the westbound lane, resulting in the fatal wrong-way crash.

The crash involved five vehicles and killed a female passenger in another car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another individual was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle fled the scene on foot and is still at large.

All lanes have been reopened, and further investigations are underway.
