[03-25-2022] One Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident During Car Purchase in South Los AngelesAccording to Los Angeles police, a 52-year-old man identified as Eugenio P. died in California after being struck by traffic while attempting to flee an attack after buying a car with his family on Friday, March 25.

Police were dispatched at 12:12 p.m. to an accident at Budlong Avenue and 109th Street in South Los Angeles.

Paz had gone there with his wife, daughter, and grandson in the hopes of buying a car, according to police.

According to the station, he had seen the car advertised online.

According to news reports, he had previously made arrangements to purchase the red Nissan Altima, which police later discovered to be stolen.

However, he was assaulted during a robbery attempt when he met the man offering to sell the car.

According to the station, police initially thought Paz had been shot, but after reviewing security footage, they discovered he had been hit in the head with something by one of his three attackers.

Paz was apparently trying to flee when he was hit by a vehicle, killing him, according to police.

According to police, the three men who attacked him fled. Lt. Derrick Alfred stated that the family witnessed the attack when it happened.
