[04-11-2022] Riverside County, CA – Bicycle Crash in Corona Results in One Death

One unidentified man was killed following a deadly bicycle crash in Corona on early Monday morning, April 11, 2022.

The fatal traffic collision occurred on 91 Freeway, in the eastbound lanes of West McKinley Street, at approximately 1:00 a.m.

A car was traveling in the No. 2 lane when the bicyclist cut across the lanes and went directly in front of the vehicle.

The vehicle was traveling at 70 mph at the time of the crash. Unfortunately, the bicycle rider was killed in the crash.

A passenger inside the vehicle sustained scratches from the broken glass after the bike hit the vehicle. It’s not clear why the bicycle rider was on the freeway.

Authorities suspect that it may be because occupants of homeless encampments in the area sometimes travel along the freeway using their bicycles. Information about the accident is limited at the moment.
