[04-30-2022] Fatal Bicycle Crash on Capitol Expressway Results in One DeathAccording to the authorities, a bicyclist was killed crossing traffic lanes on Capitol Expressway on Sunday, April 30, 2022.

According to a San Jose police news release, the collision occurred at 9:12 p.m. on Capitol near Tuers Road.

According to police, a driver in a 2007 Nissan sedan struck a man riding a bicycle in the westbound lanes.

The bicyclist was crossing traffic lanes from north to south.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the deceased will be disclosed by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirmation and notification of next of kin.

According to authorities, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The crash was not believed to be caused by alcohol or drugs, according to police.
