[08-06-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Fatally Struck by Tow Truck Driver in Hit-And-Run Collision Near Vermont Square

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a hit-and-run tow truck driver fatally struck a 68-year-old woman after he sped down a South Los Angeles street Saturday, August 6, 2022.

The crash happened around 8:00 p.m. at the corner of St. Andrews Place and 48th Street, near Vermont Square.

According to the LAPD, the pedestrian, Virginia M., was crushed into the door of her Toyota, who had just gone to her car to retrieve something.

According to the LAPD, she was taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery and later passed away.

The tow trucks and the driver’s descriptions weren’t immediately available.
