[08-13-2022] Marin County, CA - 25-year-old Dies in a Fatal Head-on Collision on Highway 299A 25-year-old Montgomery Creek woman died after a fatal head-on collision on Highway 299 Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 5:05 a.m. when the woman was driving west on the highway close to Pit No. 1, Powerhouse Road, close to Fall River Mills, and she crossed the double-yellow lines. The Peterbilt was traveling east up a grade when it struck it.

A 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was the vehicle of the woman.

According to local authorities, the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to CHP, the truck was moving at 45 mph while the Cobalt was traveling at 55 to 60 mph.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle involved was a Peterbilt truck-tractor driven by Jose R., 25, and Vincent R., 50, both from Corning. They were not injured.

The collision was not caused by alcohol.
