[08-28-2022] 22-Year-Old Was Killed in a Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101According to the CHP, a 22-year-old San Martin man was killed after a three-vehicle crash on Highway 101 early Sunday morning, August 28, 2022.

The accident happened at around 1:54 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at State Route 156.

They were struck by a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 traveling south on Highway 101, according to CHP, and the driver was thrown onto the highway.

According to the CHP, the 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 that hit them on Highway 101 southbound threw the driver onto the highway.

A few minutes later, a patrol car driven by a Monterey County Sheriff’s deputy on duty struck the driver of the Lexus, who was motionless on the road and was lying there, according to CHP.

The Monterey County Coroner’s Office reported that the driver passed away at the scene from his wounds.

The Lexus’s occupants suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. One of them was hurt slightly, while the other was badly injured.

The two people in the Dodge Ram were hospitalized after sustaining minor wounds. The MCSO deputy sustained minor injuries. According to CHP, Monterey Area personnel responded and are looking into both collisions.
