[09-12-2022] Car Crash near Del Paso Road Injures One and Knocks Out PowerAccording to Sacramento police, one person was injured in a car accident that caused hundreds of people in the neighborhood to lose power when the car hit a SMUD power pole in Sacramento County early Monday morning, September 12, 2022.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Arden Way near Del Paso Road was closed.

According to officials, the involved vehicle was traveling at high speed before losing control and colliding with the pole.

The driver was able to pull himself out of the car and walk, but the passenger had to be pulled out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital with a broken leg.

After the crash, about 1,700 people lost power, but the majority now have it back.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected of having contributed to the collision.
