According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly before 12:00 p.m. on Rainbow Canyon Road, north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard.

The man, reportedly in his late 60s, was struck by a high-profile vehicle, such as a pickup truck, SUV, or van.

The victim was walking on the shoulder of the narrow two-lane corridor before being hit. He was thrown into the brush and later found by passersby, where he was pronounced dead.
