[11-14-2022] Sonoma County, CA - Multi-Vehicle Collision Hospitalized Two People on Highway 121The California Highway Patrol said two persons had to be airlifted from the site of a head-on collision in Sonoma County on Monday morning, November 14, 2022.

According to CHP Officer Jaret Paulson, the collision involving three vehicles occurred at 9:29 a.m. on state Highway 121 just north of state Highway 37.

A 55-year-old woman from San Francisco was traveling north on SR-121 on a 2016 Acura RDX when she collided head-on with a 38-year-old man from Benicia driving a Toyota Rav 4 southbound who attempted to pass another vehicle.

A 43-year-old woman from Alameda driving a 2016 Hyundai Sonata behind the Acura was also struck head-on by the Toyota after the first collision, while the Acura was pushed onto the east shoulder.

According to Paulson, the Toyota flipped over after it slammed into the Hyundai.

Major injuries were sustained by the drivers of the Toyota and Acura, who were transported by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and John Muir Medical Center.

Authorities conducted further investigation into the collision.
